We here at Ekbana are constantly looking for new ventures, this month, we concluded the creation of a Video Info-graphic project.
This project was initiated by CARE Nepal, CARE is an International NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland. CARE Nepal’s vision is for the creation of a peaceful and harmonious society in with the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded people can live with dignity and with their rights fulfilled. With this in mind they came to us with a proposal to create a high quality video info-graphic to outline and visualize the work done by them while also raising awareness on Gender Based Violence(GBV) in Nepal, particularly in the three district's of Dhading, Gorkha and Sindupalchowk.

After our initial meeting with CARE Nepal and with the proposal and timeline set, we moved straight into data collection and research.
EKbana was able to provide valuable research and complimenting data for CARE Nepal on the impact of GBV. With data being one of the most crucial requirement for a factual info-graph, we spent the first week of the project verifying data and their sources, planning, and sorting the relevant data with the client that could eventually make it into the final video.

This project consisted of a project coordinator, content writer, and the Design Team. While the content writer worked with CARE Nepal for the data aspect. The design team was busy outlining the story board and assigning the creation of the video info-graphic assets to be used in the final video. With the Storyboard complete and verified by the client we moved on to creating the info-graphic slides.

Infographic Slides used.

The Info-graphic slides were created using Adobe Illustrator, a trending, award winning design tool. Care had to taken with the creation of assets and representation of the slides as a slight divergence from the message and visuals could possibly show cultural bias. The language used in the video needed to be in Nepali with subtitles for English located at the bottom.
With the design of each slides and multiple meetings with CARE Nepal on the look and feel they wanted in their videos, we moved on to the implementation of animations. The Animations were provided by the use of Adobe After Effects, yet another highly recognized and recommended tool in the design sphere. We then added music and rendered the video using Adobe Premier.

After multiple passes and meetings with the client the final product was ready after 4 weeks of hard work. The video length eventually came to about 5 minutes. We then provided CARE Nepal with an MP4 of the video along with a teaser trailer of the first half of the video. We also provided CARE Nepal with 50 copies of the video in individual DVDs with customized covers.

CARE Nepal distributed their video through their social media and screened the Video in various venues all across Nepal.
